Tales of the Pacific Rim
Tales of the Pacific Rim
Written and Performed by Brenda Wong Aoki
Directed by Jael Weisman
Original Music Composed and Performed by Mark Izu
Clad in the traditional kimono of a Japanese itinerant storyteller and using an exquisitely painted fan and her waist length hair as her only prop, Brenda Wong Aoki continues to entrance audiences throughout the world, with her intense, lyrical song/dance/dramas of Asian Pacific folk legends and personal stories.
Ms. Aoki’s distinctive blend of Noh and Kyogen, movement and voice instilled with her own personal sensibility is an organic synthesis of
traditional forms and contemporary content. Tales of the Pacific Rim is a performance flowing, personal and true to tradition.
